This course from the THRIVE Approach has been designed for those working with children to develop a greater understanding of how to support their emotional wellbeing. There are 3 courses - Early Years (designed for those working with babies and toddlers up to 5 years), Childhood (designed for those working with children between the ages of 5 and 11), Adolescence (designed for those working with children between the ages of 11 and 25).


The training will cover: 

  •  The Thrive Approach and its underpinning theory including established neuroscience. 
  • The links between social and emotional development and maximising learning potential. 
  • How to develop a whole-setting approach that supports the social and emotional health of babies, toddlers, young children, children and adolescence (course dependent). 
  • Appropriate expectations of behaviour at right-time development stages and how to support the development of these. 
  • How to use key relational skills in your work with babies, toddlers, young children, children and adolescence (course dependent). 
  • Using the Thrive-Online assessment and action-planning tool to screen children for right-time emotional and social development. 
  • Interpreting the Thrive-Online data to plan specific strategies and activities that support the wellbeing of all babies, toddlers, young children, children and adolescence (course dependent). 
  • Incorporating strategies and activities into your everyday routines and structures. 
  • Evidencing the progress of children and demonstrating the impact of the Thrive Approach 
  • The role of Thrive Licensed Practitioners and how to support them effectively.

    Session 2 - Thrive as a right-time approach for supporting the wellbeing of all the children.

    Session 4 - Theory and practice (Neuroscience, Child Development and Attachment) This course leads to Emotional Health Practitioner Status.
